How the Barka rate is set
Barka lies in Al Batinah South, on the coast a short drive north-west of Muscat.
The figures above are the Oman national gold rate, which is what jewellers in Barka price against. There is no separate Barka rate for the metal itself - two shops in the same street will quote different totals for the same chain because their making charges differ, not because their gold costs a different amount.
