How the Sohar rate is set
Sohar is the principal city of Al Batinah North, on the coast between Muscat and the UAE border.
The figures above are the Oman national gold rate, which is what jewellers in Sohar price against. There is no separate Sohar rate for the metal itself - two shops in the same street will quote different totals for the same chain because their making charges differ, not because their gold costs a different amount.
