How the Salalah rate is set
Salalah is the capital of Dhofar in Oman's far south, and the main gold-buying centre outside the Muscat area.
The figures above are the Oman national gold rate, which is what jewellers in Salalah price against. There is no separate Salalah rate for the metal itself - two shops in the same street will quote different totals for the same chain because their making charges differ, not because their gold costs a different amount.
