How the Sur rate is set
Sur is the coastal capital of Ash Sharqiyah South, east of Muscat.
The figures above are the Oman national gold rate, which is what jewellers in Sur price against. There is no separate Sur rate for the metal itself - two shops in the same street will quote different totals for the same chain because their making charges differ, not because their gold costs a different amount.
